Monfragüe's National park is made up of a set of mountain ranges, 6km wide that spread along 30 kilometres parallel to both banks of the river Tajo, between Miravete's port and the western end of the mountain range of the Corchuelas.
The Park has several routes of access:

  • From the north of Spain: highway A-66 up to Plasencia, then highway EX-208 (Plasencia-Trujillo) until Villarreal de San Carlos.
  • From the center: Extremadura highway as far as Navalmoral de la Mata, then the EX-A1 (Navalmoral-Plasencia);  turn right at the bridge over the river Tiétar, onto a secondary highway to Los Saltos de Torrejón - and from there to Villarreal de San Carlos.
  • From Caceres: highway Ex-354 joins the capital of province with the county of Torrejón El Rubio, from where the EX-208 leads to Villarreal de San Carlos.
